Obituary
Griffin, Marie Hope Hoey – 93, of Largo, FL died January 5, 2012. Hope was born in Natick, MA. in 1918. She spent her childhood in Hawaii, where she went to school at Punahou Prep School before going to a boarding school in New York. Hope attended Julliard School, where she majored in arts and music, and trained as a harpist. She also was a very talented artist doing Disney Cartoons in the early forties. Hope’s hobbies were shopping, playing cards and sewing. Hope raised her two daughters, after her husband, Berry Griffin, died in 1957. Laura & her husband, Patrick Grant live in Epworth, GA.; Linda and her husband, Jim Dutcher live in Dunedin, FL. Hope has four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Suncoast Hospice: 5571 Roosevelt Blvd. - Clearwater, Florida 33760.
