The Very Reverend Fr. Lawrence Girard – 72, of Clearwater, Florida, peacefully passed away on Friday, January 13, 2012. Archpriest Laurence Girard, a cleric of the Eastern American Diocese,. Fr. Girard was the former rector and cleric of Holy Elders of Optina Church in Winter Garden, FL. Archpriest Laurence Girard was born on July 14, 1939, in Buffalo, NY. In 1964, he married Marina McConeghy. For his selfless and dedicated service to Christ’s Holy Church, Fr. Laurence was awarded the miter on December 22 of last year.Nurse anesthetist at Diagnostic Clinic. Pre-deceased by his brother, Charles. Survived by his wife, Maureen; two daughters, Maria Kasarda, of Ipswich, MA. and Yvette Girard, of Palm Harbor, FL; son, Paul Girard, of Palm Harbor, FL; sister, Linda Payne, of West Seneca, NY; half –brother, Joseph Girard, of West Palm Bch, FL.; 10 Grandchildren: Anastasia, Elizabeth, Nichols, Sean, Andrea, John, Christine, Alexander, Constantine and Alexis.
